Name: Benzoquinone
Chemical formula: C6H4O2
Melting point: 115~117℃
Boiling point: 293°C
Water solubility: soluble in hot water, ethanol and ether
Dense degree: 1.318 g/cm (20°C)
use
1. Used for the qualitative verification of phylloxine, pyridine, azathione, tyrosine and hydroquinone. Amino acid determination. Dehydrogenation agent. Oxidant. Make dyes.
2. Used as a polymerization inhibitor. Used in the manufacture of hydroquinone and dye intermediates, rubber antioxidants, acrylonitrile and vinyl acetate polymerization initiators, and chlorinating agents.
3. Used as a polymerization inhibitor for monomers such as styrene, vinyl acetate, methyl methacrylate, unsaturated polyester resin, etc., and its polymerization inhibition and heat resistance are better than hydroquinone.
4. It is a commonly used oxidizing reagent or dehydrogenating reagent, because it is easily reduced to hydroquinone by other compounds, which can show oxidation activity.
5. Used as a dye intermediate and used to determine amino acids in analysis.
